Song Of The Week: “Little Mercy” by Doomtree

Doomtree’s new record No Kings came out back in November 2011. I first heard the album, however, a few days ago, and was completely blown away. Doomtree mix dark, brooding beats that have a dubstep flavor at times with intense, highly conscious lyrics about relationships, social problems, and the human condition. This song exemplifies these characteristics: intensely emotional lyrics, rich with metaphor and word play, and shuffling, slow, dubstep grooves. The soulful female vocals also add a ton of flair to the composition. The whole album, however, is amazing like this. Check it out!
