Song Of The Week: “The Blues Are Still Blue” by Belle & Sebastian

Belle & Sebastian are an indie pop band from Glasgow, Scotland. They’re sophisticated and their music radiates class. This is a single off of their 2006 album The Life Pursuit. The driving, upbeat blues rhythm is instantly recognizable and constitutes an interesting take on the classic 12-bar blues formula. The breaks also have some very good guitar playing – fun licks that aren’t too aggressive but refuse to be ignored. It’s a great track to sing along to on repeat for hours straight! Their most recent album, Write About Love, was released in 2010.
