Art For Art’s Sake Setlist 8/10/2011

My playlist was fairly typical tonight, but there were still a few gems worth mentioning. Opening the show was a Skrillex doubleshot – the Zedd remix of “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” was fucking awesome. Definitely going to consider spinning that again at some point. The absurdly-named Giraffes? Giraffes! song was another highlight. I’ve been a fan of that track for ages but never was able to fit it onto a show in the past. And I couldn’t help but spin “London Calling” by The Clash, in recognition of the riots in London. The line “London is burning and I live by the river” never seemed so appropriate to me. And of course, joining me in the studio was my good friend Sarah Morrison, who runs her own radio show, Sarah Morrison’s Infinite Playlist, on 90.3 The Core Monday mornings 8-11am. Here’s the list:
